SPIRITUAL ANOREXIA

Blessed day to you in Jesus name. I believe God that you are making tremendous progress already in this year.

There have been several times that I lost my appetite just because I got engaged in an activity that gives me so much pleasure, so much that I forgot I needed to eat. I have also been in some difficult moments that food was not just what I needed but just to get things sorted out. Many get involved in jobs that require several activities and urgent attention. Once the activity or series of activities are over, then such individual grab something to bite and drink.

While several things can cause people to lose their appetite temporarily, it becomes a diseased condition to perpetually lose appetite for food and it is called ANOREXIA. Anorexia is loss of appetite and it can be caused by many things. While preaching in church on the problem of not having appetite for the things of God, one of the retired nurses in church told me the term for natural loss of appetite is anorexia. So I decided to share with you on “Spiritual Anorexia.”

I define Spiritual Anorexia as the loss of spiritual appetite and being satisfied with spiritual crumbs and junks. In fact many people today thinks that spiritual anorexia equates being a “normal Christian”, a normal Christian as in not having any extra commitment to the Jesus Christ other than casual religion, losing nothing and gaining nothing for Jesus Christ. Lack or loss of appetite for spiritual nourishment is “abnormal Christianity”, it is a spiritual diseased condition. If you notice that you are losing passion for the Person, Presence and Power of God, if you lack zeal for prayer and the Word, you are sick! You are spiritually sick. You are not okay at all. Don’t let the Devil fool you. That is not normal Christianity.

The Bible shows us and admonishes us to be normal Christian, an always hungry Christian;

1 Peter 2:2 (AMP)
Like newborn babies you should crave (thirst for, earnestly desire) the pure (unadulterated) spiritual milk, that by it you may be nurtured and grow unto [completed] salvation,

Matthew 5:6 (AMP)
Blessed and fortunate and happy and spiritually prosperous (in that state in which the born-again child of God enjoys His favor and salvation) are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness (uprightness and right standing with God), for they shall be completely satisfied!

Psalms 42:1-2 (AMP)
AS THE hart pants and longs for the water brooks, so I pant and long for You, O God.
My inner self thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and behold the face of God?

When was the last time you sang this song, READ YOUR BIBLE, PRAY EVERYDAY, PRAY EVERYDAY, PRAY EVERYDAY, READ YOUR BIBLE PRAY EVERYDAY IF YOU WANT TO GROW. Oh, you feel it is meant for the children church alone? The moment you become too big to eat and drink, then you become too big to live. We eat the Word and drink of the Living waters as we meditate and pray.

Are you suffering from spiritual anorexia, Jesus Christ, the Physician is right there where you are now to heal you by the Holy Spirit. Talk to Him now and receive your healing.

I see your appetite for the Word and prayer being revived now in Jesus name.
