AMBITIOUS OR OBEDIENT (Part 1)

AMBITIOUS OR OBEDIENT (Part 1)
Are you obedient to God’s leading or ambitious for human applause?
Adesina Abegunde
1 Samuel 15:22 (TLB)
22 Samuel replied, "Has the Lord as much pleasure in your burnt offerings and sacrifices as in your obedience? Obedience is far better than sacrifice. He is much more interested in your listening to him than in your offering the fat of rams to him.

Beloved, happy first Monday in the month of October.
This will be your best month in Jesus name. You will enjoy favor like never before. If you or your family are in debt, it will be paid miraculously this month in Jesus name.

I am currently reading Living in Harmony written by Richard Exley, it is a very powerful book that have been reshaping my life. The book is all about how to strike balance and maintain a life rhythm of work and rest, worship and play. I recommend it for all leaders.

While reading the book, Richard spoke about driven-leaders and called-leaders, that portion of the book immediately reminded me of something my wife has always shared with me on the issue of ambition and obedience to God. Are you living an ambitious life or an obedient life?

I will be sharing critical lessons from the Scripture and life experiences of people and I hope it will dramatically change your life, because it is changing mine. To start with, please meditate on these passages and share with others;

Exodus 2:11-15 (NIV)
11 One day, after Moses had grown up, he went out to where his own people were and watched them at their hard labor. He saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his own people.
12 Glancing this way and that and seeing no one, he killed the Egyptian and hid him in the sand.
13 The next day he went out and saw two Hebrews fighting. He asked the one in the wrong, "Why are you hitting your fellow Hebrew?"
14 The man said, "Who made you ruler and judge over us? Are you thinking of killing me as you killed the Egyptian?" Then Moses was afraid and thought, "What I did must have become known."
15 When Pharaoh heard of this, he tried to kill Moses, but Moses fled from Pharaoh and went to live in Midian, where he sat down by a well.

Exodus 5:1 (NIV)
1 Afterward Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and said, "This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: 'Let my people go, so that they may hold a festival to me in the desert.'"

Luke 2:42 (NIV)
42 When he was twelve years old, they went up to the Feast, according to the custom.

Luke 2:49-52 (NIV)
49 "Why were you searching for me?" he asked. "Didn't you know I had to be in my Father's house?"…52 And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.

Luke 4:14 (NIV)
14 Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit, and news about him spread through the whole countryside.

Beloved, I hope a day will come in your life that you and I can say, “I always do what God commands; I follow his will, not my own desires” Job 23:12 (TEV).

The Lord will keep you, bless you and make you a blessing to your generation in Jesus name.
Every trap of performance that you are caught in is destroyed now in Jesus name.
You will begin to live a life of obedience from today in Jesus name.

I will continue this series in the next post. God bless you.
