YOUR MARRIAGE IS A MESSAGE (Part 2)

YOUR MARRIAGE IS A MESSAGE (Part 2)
Let your marriage be a message of encouragement
Adesina Abegunde

Glorious day to you in Jesus name.
I really appreciate your time to read this post, I know it will help you in one way or the other. Your marriage is worth investing your time, resources and strength.

In the last post I said that every life and every marriage is a message, some to warn people on how not to live and others to encourage people on how to live, such examples are to be followed or emulated.

My mentor will always say, “There are no perfect marriages, but there are very good marriages that are worth emulating.” I quite agree, because the people make the marriage. The quality of every marriage is the sum total of the quality of the man and woman involved. Only perfect people can make perfect marriage, and there is none. But there are very good people, and such make very good marriages.

So the main thrust of this post is: how will you allow God to help you build a very good marriage that can be used as an example to encourage other people?

1 Peter 3:1-6 (MSG)
1 The same goes for you wives: Be good wives to your husbands, responsive to their needs. There are husbands who, indifferent as they are to any words about God, will be captivated
2 by your life of holy beauty.
3 What matters is not your outer appearance—the styling of your hair, the jewelry you wear, the cut of your clothes—
4 but your inner disposition. Cultivate inner beauty, the gentle, gracious kind that God delights in.
5 The holy women of old were beautiful before God that way, and were good, loyal wives to their husbands.
6 Sarah, for instance, taking care of Abraham, would address him as "my dear husband." You'll be true daughters of Sarah if you do the same, unanxious and unintimidated.

In that passage, God is encouraging women to be submissive just Sarah was. Sarah’s marital life is a message of encouragement on how a woman can live in submission, it is to be desired and emulated by women.

Sarah was not perfect, but she was very good. So also you are not perfect because you are limited by flesh, but you can allow the Holy Spirit transform you to improve and live such a life that will be worthy of emulation.

May your children be able to desire your marriage in Jesus name.
May your marriage be a message of hope in your community and sphere of influence in Jesus name.
Every effort you put into your marriage will yield good results in Jesus name.

God bless you.
