GROOMED FOR INFLUENCE (Part 1)

Matthew 5:13-16 (MSG) 

¹³ "Let me tell you why you are here. You're here to be salt-seasoning that brings out the God-flavors of this earth. If you lose your saltiness, how will people taste godliness? You've lost your usefulness and will end up in the garbage.
¹⁴ "Here's another way to put it: You're here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We're going public with this, as public as a city on a hill.
¹⁵ If I make you light-bearers, you don't think I'm going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I'm putting you on a light stand.
¹⁶ Now that I've put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand—shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you'll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven.

Every church exist to power the glorious destinies of her members. The church is to nourish her member to flourish and be fruitful under God. We do not just gather in church for mere religious activities, it is the grooming center of the Holy Ghost. So for everyone who truly submits to the leadings and dealings of God in the church, one thing can only happen;become groomed for influence. We must all be groomed for influence on earth lest we fail in destiny.

To groom means to “educate for a future role of function” according to the Word-Web dictionary. God has a definite role and function for every one of us within His kingdom and on earth in general. God in his infinite mercies has raised men with definite calling and unction to strategically groom His children by the help of the Holy Spirit.

Influence is casing a remarkable change that affect persons or events without a direct or forceful efforts. Influence carries an idea of permeability that is not noticeable until the effects become so evident.

Therefore, to be groomed for influence means to allow the Holy Spirit nurture your life through the instrumentality of the Scripture and the authority figures He has placed in your life, in the church.

Strategic grooming for influence is needed by every church. Grooming children for different roles require different approach. No church is better than the other, they are only different. But God expect that every church will take their grooming assignment serious and to the zenith of her capacity.

It is therefore, important for every Christian to know that as you believe in Christ for salvation, you must belong to His family for grooming and you must be dedicated to become like Jesus. Pursuing the passion of Christ, doing what He would have done if He were to be here on earth, but don’t forget that He is actually here in you (Galatians 2:20).

The grooming of every church is seen in their mission statement of vision and the essence of grooming is to reduce noise in the place of destiny as we have it in 1 Kings 6:7. God want us well furnished in the church, so we can go out into the world to add taste and colour.

From today as you submit to grooming, your life will be colourful and bright

You will add sweetness to everywhere you step from now on.

When you step into any place from today, the aural of grace will fill the atmosphere in Jesus name.
