REAL LEADERS (Part 5)

REAL LEADERS (Part 5)
Adesina Abegunde
Champion a Risk
Hebrews 11:28 (AMP)
28 By an act of faith, he kept the Passover Feast and sprinkled Passover blood on each house so that the destroyer of the firstborn wouldn't touch them.

Happy new week to you in Jesus name. This week, you will receive angelic help in Jesus name.
I hope you are making great efforts to be a real leader and not a figure-head. In the previous posts and lessons from the life of Moses, I have discussed that real leaders add values and not titles; choose purpose above pleasure; ask questions and seek answers; and they live with a focus. In this last part of the series, I want to share with you from the life of Moses that real and great leaders always champion a risk.

A risk, according to wordweb dictionary, is to be exposed to a chance of loss or damage. So to take a risk or champion a risky venture means to do ahead and pursue a vision or goal that has a chance of both loss and gain, a chance of hazard and of hope for a favourable outcome.

Real leaders are well aware of the chances of both hazard and hope, and they prayerfully embark on the agenda they have from God without regard to the negative possibilities. Real leaders do this by putting their firm hope in God Almighty to see them through the adventure.

I am not talking about taking unreasonable risks, but I am saying that every rising attract roaring. There is always a threat to every worthy vision that is from God and aimed to improve the conditions of men. Those in the enemy camp, who take pride in the predicament of the people or the organization will pose a threat to every good thing a leader set to do. The economy can pose a risk to your business, there is always something that want to pose a threat of failure to every laudable plan you have to make progress.

What a very big risk Moses took both on his life and others by approaching Pharaoh for their release. Everyone who has ever influenced their generation took a risk, space won’t permit us to talk about risks of the likes of Martin Luther King Jr., Mother Theresa, Nelson Mandela, Lots of great leaders around the world,Several missionaries to dangerous areas, Early Church Fathers, Bible Characters, and Inventors. You are meant to take divinely ordained risk. Only know that risks taken under God is no is no risk at all, because God will always take care of the risk.

A life coach, Sharon Good, said “risk gives you an opportunity to open up to your talents, interests, abilities and dreams; teaches you to set clear goals and follow through; allows you to feel powerful and proactive, making things happen rather than waiting for things to happen; opens you up to new ideas, skills, opportunities and experiences; allows you to grow and discover new things about yourself and the world; allows you to conquer your fears; and finally, risk is exhilarating, it makes you come alive.”

Just check every time you plan to do something great or important, immediately there will arise several reasons why it won’t work or you should not do it. Some of the reasons pose low or no threat, while some pose great threats. The point still remains that, real leaders are risk-takers and not care-takers.

How can you take reasonable risks?

     1.      Live a Spirit-filled and guided life
     2.      Spend time in prayer and God’s Word
     3.      Take small risks everyday with small things
     4.      Avoid life-threatening risks (when you are just starting out in life)
     5.      Spend time to think with others in order to analyse all possible risks involved and how to mitigate them. Look before you leap
    6.      Learn to speak or act in small things that make you afraid. Once you take the first step, the fear will disappear
     7.      Always try something you have never done before
     8.      Build your confidence to succeed in every little way possible
     9.      Celebrate every little success you have and give glory to God
    10.  Be teachable and avoid repeating your mistakes
    11.  Have a good attitude to life, someone said “sometimes we win, sometimes we learn”

I will like to wrap up with a quote by Theodore Roosevelt, a former president of the United States, who said “There has not yet been a person in our history who led a life of ease whose name is worth remembering.”

You will fulfil your purpose in Jesus name.
Every threat from the devil will not prevail over you in Jesus name.
Receive divine impartation of courage and boldness to fulfill purpose in Jesus name.
No roaring will hinder your rising. You will rise and rise to your zenith in Jesus name.

God bless you.
