DOUBLE “H” WAR: Holiness vs Hormone (Part 7)
Living right, feeling right

Dealing with Sexual Temptation (1)
Hi Beloved, I believe that you are living right and feeling right. You will not fail in Jesus name. Purity is power, the devil is afraid of it, pursue purity and you won’t regret it.

I know many people have desired to uproot the tree of sexual immorality and it has proved difficult for years,many have struggled several years cutting off the fruits and leaves of sexual immorality and have done nothing on the root. As I trust God to uproot every tree He has not planted in you, please meditate on the following scriptures;

“12 Happy is the man who doesn't give in and do wrong when he is tempted, for afterwards he will get as his reward the crown of life that God has promised those who love him. 13 And remember, when someone wants to do wrong it is never God who is tempting him, for God never wants to do wrong and never tempts anyone else to do it. 14 Temptation is the pull of man's own evil thoughts and wishes. 15 These evil thoughts lead to evil actions and afterwards to the death penalty from God. 16 So don't be misled, dear brothers” (James 1: 12-16 tlb).

“The temptation to give in to evil comes from us and only us. We have no one to blame but the leering, seducing flare-up of our own lust.
Lust gets pregnant, and has a baby: sin! Sin grows up to adulthood, and becomes a real killer” (James 1: 14-15 msg).

“But every person is tempted when he is drawn away, enticed and baited by his own evil desire (lust, passions)” (James 1:14 amp).

From the scriptures above, the origin of sexual sin is in the heart. It is so amazing that what goes on in our hearts determines what goes around on the earth. Many have blamed the several things and other people for their sinful acts, trying to excuse themselves from their own sins. Have you ever wondered that when you get to heaven, God won’t blame the evil world for your evils? God won’t pardon your sins because of the music, picture or the boyfriend you had. You are responsible for your sins.

Many have struggled several years cutting off the fruits and leaves of sexual immorality and have done nothing on the root

James 1: 12-16 expressly open our eyes to see that the origin of sin is inside the man that sin; the carnal nature, old adamic flesh. This scripture vividly shows that sin is a process, it is a journey that begins in the person and not really from outside.

The same tempting situation, picture or music can mean two different things to two different people. That is why a lady can seduce a brother and unable to seduce another brother because their hearts conditions are different.

The starting point of dealing with sexual sin successfully is to take full responsibility for the sins. Romans 7 talks about sin and sins, the first referring to our old nature and the latter to the manifestation of that nature in sinful acts.

You cannot be forced to sin except you give in and that is why God won’t punish another person for your sin, so take responsibility. That means you know that you sin because you say “yes” to sin and that you cannot sin if you say “no” to sin and shun every sinful desire.

As you take responsibility, you will feel humbled by your own weaknesses or vulnerability and that will cause you to depend on God as you put flesh to death on daily basis. It will also give you confidence to know that you have the ability through the help of the Holy Spirit to say “no” to sin.

May the Lord open the eyes of your understanding in Jesus name.
Receive grace to say “no” to sin in Jesus name.
Keep living right and feeling right.

God bless you.
