WHY EXCELLENCE (Part 3)

WHY EXCELLENCE (Part 3)
Adesina Abegunde

I gladly welcome you to another excellent Tuesday, the Lord will favour you in Jesus name. You will rise beyond your imaginations in Jesus name.

We have been considering some critical reasons for being excellent in all that we do. The first reason we have considered is the fact that only the best is good enough and that whenever and wherever the best is not done, then something or someone is at risk. The second reason is that we are created to be like God in all that we do and I know that God won’t do anything less than the best.
The third reason for excellence that God commands us to be excellent, to put in our very best in all that we do. If you are a student of the Bible, you will know that the Spirit of God does nothing shoddy in, with or through our lives.

Ecclesiastes 9:10 (AMP)
10 Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in Sheol (the place of the dead), where you are going.

Ecclesiastes 9:10 (TLB)
10 Whatever you do, do well, for in death, where you are going, there is no working or planning, or knowing, or understanding.

Doing all that you do with all your might not halfheartedly, sluggishly, or poorly. Always remember that whatever you do counts and just anything is not good enough only the best is. Excellence sometimes is painstaking if not all the time, and that is why many people don’t subscribe to it. A lazy man cannot be excellent, the price will be too high for the person to pay. Excellence requires lots of might, energy, commitment, hard work, diligence and persistence. In fact, the brain work requires to be excellent is not a joke.

To do things with you might means to do things well. From the second rendition above, you will find what it means to do things well. In fact, I want to put forward to you according to that scripture that there are four parts of doing things well, which are;

      1.      Working
      2.      Planning
      3.      Knowing
      4.      Understanding

To do things well does not just require muscle or might that is required for working, because that will only amount to 25% of doing things well. Doing things well requires the dexterity, intelligence, demeanor, wisdom, creativity, confidence, efficiency and effectiveness, smartness, neatness and every other things that come from the 75% of doing things well which are planning, knowing and understanding. Let me put it this way that excellence is 75% brain work and 25% hand work. That exactly is the reason why in a company, those who are excellent ascend the ladder of promotion from manual work or labour (technical duties) to brain work (administrative duties). Junior staff only execute the work that have been known, understood and well planned by the top executives. The executives and executors work hand in hand to ensure excellence.

One more thing that will make you enjoy putting excellence to our work regardless of what you do is a proper definition of work. Consider this definition of work, think about it, apply it and note the difference it will make in your work life.

Work is the manifestation of God’s nature and character in you, as you meet the critical needs of humanity and the entire universe.

 Ask yourself the following questions;
      1.      What critical human need is my work serving?
      2.      Is there any significance of my work to the whole universe?
      3.      What nature or character of God or fruit of the Spirit do I need to manifest to carry out the demands of my work?

It is well with you, feel free to ask me any question and any help you feel you need in order to apply this lesson as well as the other ones. You can do that by putting it in the comment box below or contact me personally through the contact page.
You will succeed in Jesus name.

Have a great week.
