DOUBLE “H” WAR: Holiness vs Hormone (Part 6)

DOUBLE “H” WAR: Holiness vs Hormone (Part 6)
Living right, feeling right

Adesina A. Abegunde
Indicators of Sexual Sin
Indicators are signals that attract or call attention to a thing, they are signals that ascertain the occurrence of a thing. There are indicators or pointers to sexual sins. Sex becomes a sin when it violates certain indices. The Holy Spirit gave me three of them, they are;
1.      Time
2.      Acts
3.      Person

Godly sex must be done at the RIGHT TIME in marriage, with the ONLY RIGHT PERSON(your spouse) and with PROPER ACTS that glorify God.
Time is very important, you must learn to practice delayed gratification. Sex before wedding is a sin. So the only time to have a holy sex is after your wedding and in your marriage alone.
Acts involved in sex are another indicators, even sex in marriage may not glorify God if acts that are engaged are inspired from ungodly sources. Some acts are just wrong, sensual, selfish, and uncalled for. Acts such as masturbation, watching pornography, sending naked picture to each other, lust and lots more. Some even want to have sex like a dog, monkey and all manners that are inconsistent with self-control.

Godly sex must be done at the RIGHT TIME in marriage, with the ONLY RIGHT PERSON your spouse and with PROPER ACTS that glorify God

Person. The following are important and compulsory characteristics of persons involved in sex for a godly sex to occur. Any violation is a sexual sin. A godly sex ONLY occur between a TWO HUMAN HETEROSEXUAL SPOUSAL PARTNERS.

     a)     TWO: it takes two to tangle. Two real people, the other person must not be imagined or spiritual. There must be consent, if not, it will be a rape. One person cannot have a godly sex.
     b)     HUMAN: many people to their shame have sex with ANIMALS and THINGS. I have heard of people who have sex with baby dolls, teddy bears, dogs and monkeys, all because of money or lust. Some have sex using sex toys, masturbating with their hands, pillows etc. Any sexual expression that is not toward a matured opposite sex inside marriage is a sin.
     c)     HETEROSEXUAL: a godly sex MUST be heterosexual and not homosexual, lesbianism and gay practice are sinful and all who are involved in such are to repent and follow God-ordained practice.
     d)     SPOUSAL: if the person is not your spouse, it is a sin. Meaning that sex is an absolute NO to a single person and for a married it must be within the context of marriage.

Let marriage be held in honor (esteemed worthy, precious, of great price, and especially dear) in all things. And thus let the marriage bed be undefiled (kept undishonored); for God will judge and punish the unchaste [all guilty of sexual vice] and adulterous (Hebrews 13:4 amp).

Honor marriage, and guard the sacredness of sexual intimacy between wife and husband. God draws a firm line against casual and illicit sex (Hebrews 13:4 msg).

Honor your marriage and its vows, and be pure; for God will surely punish all those who are immoral or commit adultery (Hebrews 13:4 tlb).

Watch the above very closely, any violation of those truths amounts to sexual sin. You are only permitted to have sex with a partner that is human, of the opposite sex and who is your legal spouse. Flee fornication and adultery!

Beloved, I hope you are learning from this series. I will be happy to have your questions and contributions that can help improve this content.
May God bless and keep you from falling in Jesus name.
May His face shine upon you in Jesus name.
You will not sacrifice your future on the altar of pleasure in Jesus name.
God bless you.

WHY EXCELLENCE (Part 3)

WHY EXCELLENCE (Part 3)
Adesina Abegunde

I gladly welcome you to another excellent Tuesday, the Lord will favour you in Jesus name. You will rise beyond your imaginations in Jesus name.

We have been considering some critical reasons for being excellent in all that we do. The first reason we have considered is the fact that only the best is good enough and that whenever and wherever the best is not done, then something or someone is at risk. The second reason is that we are created to be like God in all that we do and I know that God won’t do anything less than the best.
The third reason for excellence that God commands us to be excellent, to put in our very best in all that we do. If you are a student of the Bible, you will know that the Spirit of God does nothing shoddy in, with or through our lives.

Ecclesiastes 9:10 (AMP)
10 Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in Sheol (the place of the dead), where you are going.

Ecclesiastes 9:10 (TLB)
10 Whatever you do, do well, for in death, where you are going, there is no working or planning, or knowing, or understanding.

Doing all that you do with all your might not halfheartedly, sluggishly, or poorly. Always remember that whatever you do counts and just anything is not good enough only the best is. Excellence sometimes is painstaking if not all the time, and that is why many people don’t subscribe to it. A lazy man cannot be excellent, the price will be too high for the person to pay. Excellence requires lots of might, energy, commitment, hard work, diligence and persistence. In fact, the brain work requires to be excellent is not a joke.

To do things with you might means to do things well. From the second rendition above, you will find what it means to do things well. In fact, I want to put forward to you according to that scripture that there are four parts of doing things well, which are;

      1.      Working
      2.      Planning
      3.      Knowing
      4.      Understanding

To do things well does not just require muscle or might that is required for working, because that will only amount to 25% of doing things well. Doing things well requires the dexterity, intelligence, demeanor, wisdom, creativity, confidence, efficiency and effectiveness, smartness, neatness and every other things that come from the 75% of doing things well which are planning, knowing and understanding. Let me put it this way that excellence is 75% brain work and 25% hand work. That exactly is the reason why in a company, those who are excellent ascend the ladder of promotion from manual work or labour (technical duties) to brain work (administrative duties). Junior staff only execute the work that have been known, understood and well planned by the top executives. The executives and executors work hand in hand to ensure excellence.

One more thing that will make you enjoy putting excellence to our work regardless of what you do is a proper definition of work. Consider this definition of work, think about it, apply it and note the difference it will make in your work life.

Work is the manifestation of God’s nature and character in you, as you meet the critical needs of humanity and the entire universe.

 Ask yourself the following questions;
      1.      What critical human need is my work serving?
      2.      Is there any significance of my work to the whole universe?
      3.      What nature or character of God or fruit of the Spirit do I need to manifest to carry out the demands of my work?

It is well with you, feel free to ask me any question and any help you feel you need in order to apply this lesson as well as the other ones. You can do that by putting it in the comment box below or contact me personally through the contact page.
You will succeed in Jesus name.

Have a great week.

REAL LEADERS (Part 2)

REAL LEADERS (Part 2)
Adesina Abegunde
They Choose Purpose above Pleasures
Hebrews 11:25 (AMP)
25 He chose a hard life with God's people rather than an opportunistic soft life of sin with the oppressors.

Hello beloved, a glorious Monday morning to you and a wonderful week in Jesus name. Thanks for taking time out to pray for me yesterday, I really appreciate it.
To continue our series on Real Leaders, I will be robbing minds with you today on a critical, costly and probably an unpopular habit of real leaders, which is choosing purpose above pleasure. Last week Monday, we examined the fact that real leadership is not accumulating titles but adding values. I hope you are adding values already?

Real leadership is choosing purpose above pleasures, even when it is painful.
The natural human nature is pleasure-seeking and unfortunately, this generation is fun-loving, they don’t just want anything hard or slow, this generation want everything easy, fast, cheap and if possible have no commitment to anything.

It is amazing how leaders get distracted by the pleasures of the position and lose sight of the purpose of the office, this is very obvious, especially, in our politicians here in Nigeria. So disheartening to also find that manifestation among religious leaders who are supposed to know better.
Leadership is not to have pleasures to enjoy but purpose to pursue. The reason why organizations surround their top leaders with seemingly pleasurable things like cars, house, vacation, fat salary and many more allowance is so that those leaders will not have to worry about those things and as such be focused on the purpose of the office in order to deliver, add values and be highly productive. Unfortunately, everyone gets focused and ill-motivated to join the rat race just for the sake of the pleasures, having no purpose to deliver.

One of my very dear friends, Pastor Wale Ojegbile, was asked by some well-meaning students to contest for a student body office while we were in the seminary. His answer to them was like a thunder strike to me, it is still guiding me till today when it comes to leadership. What was his answer? I HAVE NO VISION FOR IT. He was not deceived by titles.

Wow! Imagine they ask your daddy to come and be a governor and he reject it because he has no vision for it. I am sure you will organize deliverance prayer for him (just joking). You may even advise him to download one from google. The essence of election debates and manifesto is to allow contestant say their vision. Alas! Many are only helped to conjure up things that the aspirant does not even understand, and when the people get into the office, they manifest nonsense.

Real leaders focus on purpose and not pleasure, Moses knew that his purpose was to deliver the Israelites, to identify with the slaves, and not to enjoy the pleasures of being the next Pharaoh. How many can resign and let go of pleasure just to stand for the purpose they are meant to serve?
Don’t live day-to-day looking for a better-life, better job, etc. Look for the-life you were created to live; a life that makes other lives better. Don’t just set out looking for a pleasurable life, look for a purposeful life.

Choosing purpose above pleasures is a tough call for real leaders. Jesus modeled that for us as stated in Philippians 2:7-8 (AMP)

7 But stripped Himself [of all privileges and rightful dignity], so as to assume the guise of a servant (slave), in that He became like men and was born a human being.

8 And after He had appeared in human form, He abased and humbled Himself [still further] and carried His obedience to the extreme of death, even the death of the cross!

How to choose purpose above pleasure.
        1.      Humbly admit and repent of your inner drive or crave for pleasure.
        2.      Choose to put your pleasure-drive under check in everything you do.
       3.      Have a 360 degree leadership sense, that you are a leader and you can lead without holding an  office, as taught by John C. Maxwell.
      4.      Never accept a leadership role without having a vision for it. Vision-driven or purpose-driven leaders spend their resources for the course, while pleasure-driven leaders are always enriching themselves with the office.
       5.      Always have a clearly written vision or purpose for every leadership role you play
(Malachi 2:1-2). Write the purpose of your life, career, family, business, company and so on.
      6.      Always ask and find out what the purpose is costing you.
     7.      Make sure that the value you deliver is far above the salary you are paid. Your out-flow of  purpose must be greater than in-flow of pleasure. Become a gift that no amount of gift can pay for.
      8.      Always keep your purpose before you daily.
      9.      Have an accountability partner or team and a mentor that keep you in check.

I believe you will succeed in your leadership roles in Jesus name.
This week will be great for you in Jesus name.
As you cross to September this week, the LORD will preserve you and all yours in Jesus name.
God will re-communicate your real purpose and vision to you this week in Jesus name.

God bless you.

I GIVE MYSELF AWAY

I GIVE MYSELF AWAY
Adesina Abegunde

Good morning beloved, I trust God you had a wonderful night rest.

With great reverence to Yahweh God, my Creator, Redeemer and Friend; and humility to you all I present this post.
I wrote this post in the middle of the night when I could not sleep on the 12th of August, 2016 at about 3:23a.m. The thought of what is to happen today filled my mind, even though I was ill, sleepless and restless due to stress (very bad, but I think I am repenting and taking more rest now).
Today is my solemn ordination into the full Gospel ministry as a Baptist Pastor. What does that mean (for those who are not Baptists)?

Doctrinally in Baptist or based on the practice in Baptist, it means that I can now administer the Lord Supper, Baptism by immersion, and join couples in marriage. While I am not crazy with title,it also change my title from a Pastor into a Reverend, but it does not change my divine assignment as a Pastor, it only adds to it.And that is my major concern as I want to share below; how to fully live out the meaning of that title so that it won't be a mere title.

Spiritually, to be “reverend” means to be holy, set apart, separated, consecrated, it means for something to be in a class of its own and specially chosen for a noble task. While everyone born of God is not bearing the title “Reverend”, we allhave a Royal Priesthood and are all a Holy Nation and chosen for noble tasks according to Scriptures (1Peter 2:9; Ephesians 2:10); it only confers a sense of special duty on some people among those who are called of God.

Ephesians 4:11 (AMP)
11 And His gifts were [varied; He Himself appointed and gave men to us] some to be apostles (special messengers), some prophets (inspired preachers and expounders), some evangelists (preachers of the Gospel, traveling missionaries), some pastors (shepherds of His flock) and teachers.

Hebrews 5:1 (AMP)
1 FOR EVERY high priest chosen from among men is appointed to act on behalf of men in things relating to God, to offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins.
Only God had the name REVEREND in the scripture according to Psalm 111:9 (Kjv)
He sent redemption unto His people: he hath commanded His covenant forever: HOLY AND REVEREND is His name.

It is a great privilege to be called by His name and entrusted by His people with more holy assignments. I give all the glory to God.
For a month and half to this day, my song and prayer everyday by 7:00a.m has been I GIVE MYSELF AWAY, SO YOU CAN USE ME. MY LIFE IS NOT MY OWN, TO GOD I BELONG. That is my prayer, my desire, my plea and that is the request I have for you today, to pray for me from now on, as much as you can. That is the greatest gift.

Pray for me from Isaiah 6, that I may see the LORD, hear the LORD and respond to the LORD obediently, fully and promptly. Total abandonment to His will is my desire. Beloved pray, pray for me that I will not be disobedient to the heavenly vision (Acts 26:19). Pray that I will obtain help to stand firm to the end preaching nothing but the Gospel of Jesus Christ (Acts 26:22).

Pray for me that through the laying of hands of my father in the LORD, Pastor and mentor, Rev’d Taiwo Opajobi, the LORD will give me fresh unction to function, vision and grace to run the race. Grace that surpasses grades. Grace that prevents disgrace. Grace, grace and grace alone.
Thanks for interceding for me; for lifting me up in prayers today.
You will never lack a voice before God when it matters most in Jesus name.

Thanks. I love you.

THE CAR 4 - THE STEERING WHEEL

THE CAR 4 - THE STEERING WHEEL
Adesina Abegunde

Good morning my people. Hope you’re relaxing already and preparing for the new week coming really close.

Today, I will be sharing some with you The Power of Little Adjustment from the steering Wheel. A Steering is the collection of components, linkages etc. which allows any vehicle to follow the desired course. When you’re driving, especially when it’s a straight route, you barely turn the Steering wheel. Little turns are made to stay on the desired path or route. Major adjustments are made when there’s going to be a turn or maybe when the road is bad and there’s the need to avoid potholes.
Oxford Dictionary defines Adjustments as ‘a small alteration’ made to achieve a desired fit, appearance or result.
Romans12:2  tells us why we need to Adjust. It says
.
Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is — his good, pleasing and perfect will.
Transformation according to the Oxford Dictionaries is defined as ‘a thorough or dramatic change in form or appearance’
It is God’s will for us to be transformed. God does not want us to remain the same. Even Gold has to be transformed from its crude form to the beautiful forms that we see and use. Transformation comes only by the renewing of your mind.  Adjustment starts in the mind and when we work on it, it brings renewal and according to that passage, renewal brings Transformation.
The Adjustment you need to make could be as little as reducing the number of hours you sleep per night, reading that book that you have abandoned, it could be learning how to keep your emotions in check, It could be switching of your phone so that you can do your work. It could be anything at all.
This weekend, I want you to sincerely answer these questions and make changes were necessary.

     a)     What adjustments have I made recently?
     b)    What adjustments will I make this weekend and this coming week?
     c)     What adjustments am I resisting?
     d)    What adjustments have I made recently?

You don’t need to make Big Adjustments or decisions before your life becomes better. Remember that what gets a car to where it is going to is not the “big turns”. it is actually the little adjustments made by the Driver through the Steering wheel.
This weekend, the Grace is released upon you now to be able to see where you need to adjust and make those adjustments in Jesus name. Heaven will smile upon you this weekend and henceforth in Jesus name. The Lord will cause his countenance to be upon you and yours in Jesus name. God will be all that you need him to be in Jesus name. Amen.

Enjoy your Weekend
