DEALING WITH THE CURRENT
ECONOMIC CRISIS (Part7)
By Adesina Abegunde
Good morning folks.
Hope your week has been going on well. Last week, we
started our discussion about Elijah from the book of 1Kings17&18. Today, we
will continue that study. I hope you are excited about what God is set to do
through it in your life. Your expectation will not be cut short in Jesus
name.(If you’re new to this post, check out the previous posts on Dealing with
the Current Economic Crisis).
1 Kings 17:9 (NIV)
9 "Go at once to Zarephath of
Sidon and stay there. I have commanded a widow in that place to supply you with
food."
1 Kings 17:15-16 (NIV)
15 She went away and did as Elijah
had told her. So there was food every day for Elijah and for the woman and her
family.
16 For the jar of flour was not
used up and the jug of oil did not run dry, in keeping with the word of the
LORD spoken by Elijah.
The story of the widow of Zarephath is that of a “SENSELESS” giving for an ENDLESS harvest. A LAST-KOBO seed for a
LASTING blessing. Sometimes, the last thing must be released to have a lasting
harvest, it is a very difficult thing, but several people have done this in
faith before as they respond to a convinced inner prompting. Please not that
this must not be done emotionally and if you are married, it will be proper to
carry your spouse along and be on the same page in order to avoid conflict.
From the Bible text, God said "I have commanded
a widow in that place". The woman never talked of any command. So, it must
be that God's command in her spirit was moving the woman to be willing
to bless God's servant. God’s word in her spirit was enabling her, she didn’t
do it grudgingly, God worked in her both to will and to do, the Spirit and the
Life of God’s command in her helped her to obey. The woman was broken enough
for God to give her such a command. Are you broken enough for God to guide you
in a time like this? The meek God will guide in judgement.
Here we see God using;
1)
Prophetic Revelation (v. 2,8): divine or inspired guidance from God
2)
Prophetic Word (v. 14): a decree of what God has said and set to do for
you
3)
Prompt Obedience (v. 5,10,11,15):
your only human response needed to unlock the supernatural
4)
Commanded Prophetic Seeds (v. 9,13): a seed you sow as a response to
God’s prophetic or revealed word to you
How sensitive are you to the prophetic revelation
and words? If you despise it, you will suffer. The woman was ready to die with
her son, but God was ready to give her life if only she was ready to obey. Do
you think your end has come? Are you already thinking of the worst? Are you
even contemplating evil or crime? Wait a little more on God, listen to Him, He
will give you prophetic guidance. Spend time in the Word and in prayers, be
broken enough to be guided by God, lean not on your own understanding and watch
an outstanding miracle happen to you.
Say this with me. From henceforth, I refuse to
despise revelation from God. I will take seriously all that God will say to me
in Jesus name. I will not see shame. I will not be embarrassed. I will not die
due to disobedience. I am rising above frustration in Jesus name.
I will live to hear your testimonies because they
are sure to come.
You are blessed for life in Jesus name. Amen
Enjoy your day.
